Your listing name, city, description and photos are public when published. Keep private contact details and children's personal information out of listings and photos. Seller email stays off listings. Buyer contact shares the buyer's name, email and message with the seller; a direct reply reveals the seller's email.
Nightly, GitHub Actions reads Gear listing records, keeps published listings (including closed, expired, or moderator-removed ones; listings you remove yourself are left out of later backups) and each retained seller's account email, encrypts them, and copies them to a private off-site Backblaze B2 backup retained for about 30 days. Photos, unpublished drafts, and contact messages are not kept in that backup.
Use sample details in this preview. Connected local mode stores sample listings and sanitized photos on this computer. Local contact messages are inspection copies; no email is sent. Deletion hides listings and photos with 30-day recovery. Authorized moderators may review associated text during recovery; permanent cleanup removes it. Local cleanup runs automatically while the preview server is running. Unverified drafts last 3 days, contact copies 24 hours, and reports and moderation history 30 days; cleanup can take up to another day.
