Max Doner grew up in a big hockey family in the Seattle area and played competitively through college, suiting up for NCAA D3 hockey at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. After college, he moved into skills coaching, drawing on both the skills he developed as a player and what he learned across different programs along the way. Combined with his siblings' experience in the game, that background helps him prepare players for exactly what to expect as they move up from one level to the next.
