Donovan Guldenmann serves as an assistant goalie director for Seattle Jr. and a coach with Pacific Coast Goaltending, focusing on individualized goalie development and video review. After playing youth hockey in Seattle and junior hockey in Lake Tahoe, he found his passion in coaching goaltending, a specialized and often overlooked position where he can make a significant impact. In his third year of coaching, Guldenmann conducts private lessons, clinics, and camps with Pacific Coast Goaltending, while also serving as goalie skills coach for Seattle Jr. His approach emphasizes individualized development, recognizing that each goalie moves and processes pressure differently. He tailors his training to the player in front of him, avoiding a one-size-fits-all system. Video review is a key component of his coaching, as it often leads to faster, more lasting improvement than verbal correction alone. Guldenmann has benefited from strong mentors, including Thomas Speer, owner of Pacific Coast Goaltending and goalie coach for the San Jose Sharks and Team USA in the IIHF tournament. His goal with every goalie is to build a strong technical foundation and the confidence to thrive in net.
